Design Concepts Suitable for a Plus Size Bridesmaid Dress
A bridesmaid that wears plus sized clothing should be made to feel as beautiful as any other bridesmaid is, and this begins with the process of measuring. It is best to measure her after a meal in the evening time. Altering a dress is a simples process, but trying to let the dress out can be quite complicated and requires a bit of time. Mermaid style dress will make a tall girl more beautiful by making her long frame flow with elegance. Do not get form fitting gowns for full figured women as it does not suit them. Comfort is always best chosen over fashion. If you want to appear taller, your best best is a dress with a longer style. Also if the bridesmaid wants to hide her arms you can add a lovely shawl or sleeves to her dress.
To cover an unflattering neckline, a curved one can easily fix the problem.
To make the top look smaller and the bottom look longer add a belt or sash which gives the illusion of a waist on a bridesmaid dress. This is one fantastic trick to make a short-legged girl appear taller. Loud and bright colors such as yellow or hot pink make the person wearing them look bigger. Less bright colors look much better on a person. You would always want your plus sized friend to beautiful on this special occasion.
The Bridesmaid dress should be something that she can wear again, maybe altered and with a few accessories added. A plus sized bridesmaid dress should not have too many beads or an accessory this can give a look of gaudiness and that is not where you want to go with this dress. Satin can be more form fitting and does not breathe well, so the best fabric to use would be Taffeta or chiffon. The dresses should have a streamlined, unencumbered look to them, and avoid excesses or gathered places that just make them look bulky. The dress should be one layer of straight lines that accentuate the body with a sash or belt to give the illusion of a waist and height to the dress. The bridesmaid dress should simply be more comfortable.
